This is by far my favorite collage, and might even tie for my favorite piece in my book. This picture is the visual representation of my "Little Brother..." poem. The knight in shining armor, the mirror, and whats behind the smiles. All these are included in my spoken word poem. One of the best pieces I've done.

This poem is in the simplest words "me". This poem was created in the idea of what I love to do, and why I do it in the first place. This is probably my third favorite poem because it will always remind me of who I truly am on the inside.
This was the first assignment that I truly was excited to do. When I saw the prompt, I knew exactly what I was going to do. I thought that instead of just blacking out the words to create the poem, I could create something visual that would draw the readers eye in. This poem and artwork was definitely one of my favorites.
I liked this poem because it made me use more creativity than I'm used to. It made me think of how these words can fit together to create a story. I used the dream method to create my poem. That everything that my person had experienced, was merely all in his head.
My process to complete my assignment was beginning by thinking of what a good topic would be that also relates to “the prototype” topic of the book. I thought that a personal belief of mine would be an interesting and creative topic to use. The belief is that people only see me as a good gamer, a student that only cares for his work, a kid that focuses only on his athletics instead of other people like his friends or family. But in reality, I am much more than those basic things. I am more than what people think of me, and I am more than the path that people try to set for me. I set my own path, and I am my own person with his own interests. That people don’t define me, I define me! My main struggle with the project was finding and cutting out the words that I couldn’t find in the main stanza. It took me a little longer than I would like to admit to find the word “define”. I eventually had to print the word with different colors, italics, bold, fonts, etc. I added the collage element by combining the items I liked and cut out, and then I overlapped them and combined them to flow together. I added the element of found poetry by using erasure and dada for the poem I made. It relates to the personal prototype because this belief of mine forms me as a person, and focuses on the inner thoughts personal experiences.
The kaleidoscope of being in my mind is what every person has and uses to see different things. That the kaleidoscope shows different images to different people. For example, when people see a piece of art. They don’t all see and feel the same thing as everyone else does, they see and feel different about the art. Some people may think that the piece of art is one of the best artworks to ever be created in the history of mankind. Some people may think that it isn’t even close to art and that it belongs in the trash. Others might just think it's alright, you never know just from looking at them. Everyone is like a snowflake… There may be multiple of them, but each one is its own and individual creation. No one is exactly the same as another.
Beyond all represents being beyond all earthly emotions like hatred or bliss, and is represented through inner peace. Beyond all can also represent us leaving the earthly plain through death or some other way of leaving our bodies like meditation. Beyond all shows us the secrets that only yourself can find. The things you find inside yourself like peace and how to truly better yourself, not how others think you need to better yourself. The last thing it can represent is space and what lies beyond our Milky Way galaxy. Whether the galaxy holds more secrets that we haven’t discovered, more unanswered questions that haven’t been asked yet, and whether other life is out there besides our own on our planet. So beyond all represents the hidden secrets within ourselves, and outside our world. The secrets that may hold answers to the questions, “What’s the meaning of life?”, “Is there other life in other solar systems or galaxies?”, or even “How can we truly achieve peace inside ourselves and in the world we live in?”
Purity of purpose is talking about the things and good deeds you do don’t have a secret meaning behind them. Like most times, people will only do stuff if they get something good or worthwhile out of the task. But a purity of purpose is where you do the stuff for the mere good feeling you get in return or where you just do it to help. A good example of this is where someone will walk an old lady across the street. They aren’t getting money or praise out of doing that. They are just doing it to help the little old lady that can’t walk across the street as well as she used to. Another one is when someone does stuff for charity. When someone does work for charity, like gathering clothes for the homeless or hold a food drive for the less fortunate, they don’t do it for themselves. They do it to help others that need it more than them.
